Practice Session Recording with Seizure (Burning Studios) - live electronic Hip-Hop remix biz - now on SoundCloud
For those who missed it, myself and producer Seizure of Burning Studios ripped it up big-time at Get Down! last Wednesday. I did a bit of DJing early on, then we went into a prepared 30-minute joint set and later on, by popular demand, we pulled together an impromptu up-tempo session with Seizure playing some breaks tunes and me cutting it up in a thoroughly full-on fashion.
All in all, it was definitely one of the best sets (if not the best) that I've ever been involved with. The crowd reaction was really good and, while time commitments prevent us from doing any more gigs straight away, it is something we may revisit in future.
For those that missed it, I've put a recording I made of one of our practice sessions for the planned set up on my new SoundCloud account.
Seizure & Analogue Practice Session April 2010 by DJ Analogue (Leeds, UK)
It kicks off with the beat to "Clockwork" by Dilated Peoples, reinterpreted in a slightly dubby style by Seizure's keyboard licks, and then goes on through several of his original beats manipulated live. All the scratches are by me and I also threw in some live acapella mixes of tracks by Roots Manuva, The Roots and DJ Skitz (in the latter case the actual MCs in question are Wildflower, Estelle and Tempah).
It's hopefully something a bit different from the norm and certainly represents a bit of a departure for both of us so comments are very welcome. Preferably "Wow, that was awesome!" obviously but constructive criticism will also be gratefully received.
